For those of you in the middle of upgrading to one of the newer 2020 iPhone 12 models (iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max), you will come to find out that your new phone no longer will come with a wall charger block. If that wasn't a deep enough stab in the back from Apple, your old wall charger from your older models will no longer be compatible either! Why you may ask?
Apple decided to push for smaller packaging sizes in order to be more eco friendly and to save some pocket change while at it. A 1 port wall charger block will no longer fit inside the new packaging box and they are pretty much making you purchase it separately after spending an arm and an leg on your new iPhone 12, 12 Mini, 12 Pro, or 12 Pro Max.
The old wall charger you've had laying around for the last few years won't work either. Apple has upgraded the way your phones will be charged moving forward, which will improve the overall charging speed. They got rid of the universal USB port (save it, they have now become a limited edition item, just kidding... no but seriously), for a smaller, more modern, much faster USB-C/Type-C/PD port. Your new iPhone 12 will still connect via a lightning port, but the other end will no longer have a USB end, as it'll now be the newest USB-C/Type-C type. What does that mean for you?
You will need to purchase a wall charger that has the PD port option. We have taken the time to put together a simple chart below to help you compare the charger Apple will be selling their customers with what we offer here at Red Zombie.
